If a pet is 30 days past due on their vaccinations, the appointment will need to be rescheduled after the proper vaccines are updated and received. If a pet is receiving vaccinations near their scheduled grooming appointment, we require AT LEAST 12 hours (24 hours preferred) between the vaccine and grooming appointment. This is to reduce chances of an allergic or adverse reaction to the vaccination.
PLEASE NOTE *** We do not accept handwritten, stickers with handwritten dates, or self-administered vaccinations either administered by yourself or breeder (e.x. “Vaccination Booklets/Passports”). Soggy Paws Pet Grooming requires all vaccinations to be administered by a licensed veterinarian. Vaccinations must have a “due date”, “expiration date”, or “1-Year/3-Year” next to the date given. Acceptable documents must be on a letter-head with the veterinarian’s/clinic’s/shelter’s information. Carbon copies from mobile vaccine clinics are acceptable.
(We are unable to call veterinarian offices, rescue groups, shelters, etc. to verify vaccinations due to our current staffing)
It is the pet owners sole responsibility to know if their vaccination paperwork is correct and current. If you are unsure of how to read your pets vaccination documents, please consult with your pet’s administering veterinarian office about your pet’s vaccination status. We ask that you send your pet’s vaccinations to Soggy Paws Pet Grooming via text or e-mail when you book your appointment to verify they are current. Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. Please make us aware of any medical or health conditions that your pet has, including but not limited to: epilepsy, heart conditions (murmurs, congestive heart failure, etc.), luxating patellas (knee-caps) or stifles, hip dysplasia, spine or neck issues, implants, artificial joints, ocular (eye) conditions, allergies, arthritis, current or chronic ear infections, hot spots, past or current surgeries, etc. If we find anything abnormal or that may be a cause for concern, we will alert you at check-out or by phone if it is urgent. All medical expenses for veterinary care will be covered by the pet’s owner
Every effort will be taken to make sure your pet gets groomed as safely and carefully as possible. But, unfortunately, accidents do happen. Dogs and cats are licking, scratching, jumping, and overall wiggly creatures. In the event of an accident, you will be notified immediately. If Soggy Paws Pet Grooming feels it requires immediate medical attention we will transport your pet to the nearest, available emergency veterinary office (Bixby Animal Specialty & Emergency – Torrance, CA 90505 or ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital South Bay – Torrance, CA 90504)
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment please do so 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment to give us time to refill the appointment slot. We do understand life happens and unforeseen circumstances/situations can arise and that is ok! We get it, we are human too! If you have multiple last minute cancellations or no shows, Soggy Paws Pet Grooming reserves the right to require a deposit for future appointments or the right to refuse future appointments and service.
We allow a 10 minute grace period after your scheduled appointment time. We ask that you please inform us via call or text if you are running late. If you are running more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule. Please reach out to us via text or phone call and we will see if the schedule can accommodate a late appointment. We can not guarantee accommodation as it depends on the day’s schedule.
We ask that your pet be picked up within 45 minutes from when you are notified they are ready for pick up via text or phone call unless prior arrangements have been made with Soggy Paws Pet Grooming. If you are unable to pick up within the time frame, a “Daycare” fee will be applied to the invoice and your pet will be given the opportunity to relieve itself by walk or potty pad as well as fresh, filtered water and a blanket for their comfort.
Late pick up after closing time will incur a $1.00 per minute for every minute after our posted closing time. Please keep in mind our business hours to avoid any fees. Occasionally we may need to close earlier than our posted hours due to staffing but we will make you aware the day of your appointment.
Any pet not picked up 30 minutes after the posted closing time will be charged a $100/per night, per pet, boarding fee.
Soggy Paws Pet Grooming is a flea-free facility. We have our salon sprayed monthly, year-round to prevent any infestations. We do not accept any pets with fleas and do not provide any flea-preventing services (flea baths/dips). Pets coming into our salon are required to be flea-free and on a working, prescription preventative from their veterinarian. Please follow up with your pet’s veterinarian regularly on what the best flea preventative is that they can prescribe, as the most effective one changes year to year. In the case that a pet can not receive flea medication due to a medical issue (i.e. epilepsy) we will recommend you speak to your veterinarian about alternative methods such as Capstar. If your pet is found to have fleas during check in or any part of the grooming service, you will be asked to pick up your pet before the service is complete and to reschedule. If you have made a deposit for the appointment, the deposit is non-transferable, non-refundable, and forfeited.
Under no circumstance do we accept pets exhibiting any signs of aggressive behavior. If your pet has been known to have difficulty during parts of the grooming process, please make us aware at the time of check in. We do not specialize in aggressive pets, pets who exhibit aggressive behavior for grooming, or any type of “rehabilitation grooming”. In some circumstances a muzzle or cone may need to be used and the grooming service may take longer than normal. Additional fees may be added when extra time and special handling is necessary for a difficult pet without further notification to the owner. In the event that your pet is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, Soggy Paws Pet Grooming has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming and the client will be charged a grooming fee. If at any time a pet requires two stylists to complete a groom due to size/cooperation (i.e. Extra Large breeds refusing to stand for extended periods of time, small breeds needing to be held by an additional stylist to complete the groom, etc), additional fees will apply.
