Vaccination Records
[vc_empty_space height=”18px”][vc_column_text]Soggy Paws Pet Grooming requires for the safety of all pets in our care and staff members, pets be up to date on their vaccinations. If your appointment is on a weekend, please ensure your veterinary clinic is open should we need to call and verify vaccinations. Pets should wait at least 24 hour between the day of their vaccine and their scheduled grooming appointment, as most pets are tender or feel pain at the injection site, and we want their experience to be pleasant.

We do accept Titer testing if it is current within 3 years and must be on a letterhead from your veterinarian. If your pet can no longer receive vaccinations we require a letter from your veterinarian stating your pet is not able to be vaccinated due to medical reasons or age.

We ask that you have your veterinarian e-mail your pet’s vaccination records prior to the grooming appointment to info@soggypawsgrooming.com[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” css_animation=””][vc_column width=”1/3″]

Your pet will be walked to relieve itself, provided a blanket, and a bowl of water. If the grooming process runs over 4 hours, the fee does not apply, but we do ask you pick up your pet within 1 hour of us calling.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” css_animation=””][vc_column]

[vc_empty_space height=”18px”][vc_column_text]Please keep in mind of our business hours. Any pick ups after our closing time will incur a $1 per minute fee for every minute after our posted closing time. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” css_animation=””][vc_column]
Matted Pets
[vc_empty_space height=”18px”][vc_column_text]Severely matted fur does not allow for air circulation to the skin, causing hot spots as well as bacterial and fungal infections. Parasites such as fleas, ticks, maggots, etc. may be underneath the coat causing further skin irritation or infection. If the matted coat has been washed, it can not dry properly and can lead to rotting fur and/or skin. It is not out of the ordinary for the skin underneath to be raw, inflamed, irritated, or bruised.

Matting on the ears can cause hematomas which will need to be addressed by a veterinarian immediately. Hematomas caused by matting are rare, but do happen. The skin on the ear is very thin and when matted, the matted fur pulls tightly constricting blood flow to the tips of the ears. When the mats are shaved off it causes a quick rush of blood into the vessels surrounded by weakened ear tissue, which then causes “bleeding out”.

Soggy Paws Pet Grooming is a humanity before vanity salon. We do offer de-matting if the pet is tolerant of the process and at the stylist’s discretion, at a $1 / per minute. If a pet is biting, thrashing, becoming stressed/agitated/aggressive toward being brushed, the de-matting process will be stopped immediately and you will be notified that we will need to take your pet down to a length that the tangles can come out. That length is determined by the severity of the matting and what length of blade can go under the matting, to safely remove the matted hair from against the skin. Extensive de-matting can be uncomfortable and at times painful for a pet, and every pet has a different tolerance level. Chances are if your pet is not allowing you to brush it’s coat thoroughly at home, we won’t be able to either![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” css_animation=””][vc_column]

Difficult Pets
[vc_empty_space height=”18px”][vc_column_text]Under no circumstance do we accept pets exhibiting any signs of aggressive behavior. If your pet has been known to have difficulty during parts of the grooming process, please make us aware at the time of check in. In some circumstances a muzzle or cone may need to be used and the grooming service may take longer than normal. Additional fees may be added when extra time is necessary for a difficult dog without further notification to the owner. In the event that your pet is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, Soggy Paws Pet Grooming has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming and client will be charged a grooming fee.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” css_animation=””][vc_column]
Senior/Geriatric Pets
[vc_empty_space height=”18px”][vc_column_text]Small breed dogs are considered senior at 10-12 years old, Large/Giant breed dogs: 5-7 years old, Cats: 11-14 years old. Grooming senior pets is a delicate task. With that said, on occasion the grooming process may take longer than usual so we can provide enough breaks to keep your pet comfortable. Senior and geriatric pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort. Occasionally, their groom may not be perfect due to mobility issues or the individual pet’s tolerance level of certain tasks being performed. On the rare occasion, we may be unable to continue grooming your pet into their senior years and refer you to veterinarian clinic that provides grooming if we feel that it would be in your pet’s best interest and health.
